Manufacturing activity in the Midwest rose 0.7 percent in November to another record high, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reported. The Midwest Manufacturing Index rose to 125.5 in November, led by gains in the resource sector, from a revised 124.6 in October. The reg1ion’s strong performance in the resource sector, which rose 1.3 percent in November to 111.5, resulted from gains in food, lumber and petroleum production, the report said.
