Applications are being accepted for temporary jobs counting heads in the village’s upcoming special census.
Nearly 50 enumerators are needed beginning in early February. Pay will be $10 an hour, with supervisors earning $11 an hour, officials said.
Applicants should be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and should be able to do substantial amounts of walking, climbing stairs, and writing, officials said.
The village, which is projecting a population increase of more than 2,600 over its 1996 special census results of 23,391, is conducting its seventh special census to increase the revenues it receives from state income and motor fuel taxes.
