In his insightful article “How quickly the seeds of fear are sown” (Perspective, Jan. 11), Marshall Froker cites Carl Sagan’s wise dictum: Do not accept extraordinary claims unless they are accompanied by extraordinary proof.

The global-warming proponents would do well to heed this caveat. Their agenda is premised on partial and selective data, untested and uncertain computer modeling and biased speculation.
