In reading Richard Christiansen’s Arts Afield article “Counting down the 20th Century” (Arts & Entertainment, Jan. 4), I was disappointed that he failed to include any statement about the true starting date of the 21st Century, or the new millennium.
In response, I wrote this limerick:
The next century/millennium
Starts in January Two Thousand One
So those premature fools
Who don’t play by the rules
Celebrate “Minimalennium.”
