Hoffman Estates officials are to meet in special session Monday to appoint a new village trustee to finish the unexpired term of Trustee Richard Cochran.

Cochran, whose term runs through April 1999, resigned last month to accept a corporate transfer to Dallas.

The Village Board will meet in special session at 7:20 p.m. Monday to vote on a candidate to be nominated by Mayor Michael O’Malley.

Trustee hopefuls were interviewed by the board Monday.

Those vying for the job include Barbara Adrianapoli, wife of Plan Commission Chairman Carl Adrianapoli, and Lloyd Boester, the chairman of the village’s Zoning Board of Appeals

Also seeking the office are village residents Joe Smolen, Thomas White, Don Laxton, Bob Seibert, Mark Sulkin and Wayne Ludtke.

One other candidate has withdrawn.
