Preconstruction sales are under way for the 40-unit Ravenswood Park, a townhouse development in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood at 1801 W. Winnemac Ave., which will include four four-story brick buildings.

Preconstruction prices on the two- and three-bedroom units range from $219,000 to $259,000. They have 1,900 to 2,100 square feet with two or 2 1/2 baths and an attached one- or two-car garage.

The residences feature brick exteriors with stone accents, gabled roofs, cedar-shake siding, oversized windows, balconies and roof decks.

Floor plans include a garden-level family room or bedroom, bath, and entry to the garage. The main level features a living room, dining room and kitchen with separate breakfast area and a balcony off the living room or kitchen.

The master bedroom suite with cathedral ceiling and private bath and a second or third bedroom are on the third level. A fourth-floor loft overlooks the master bedroom and accesses a roof deck.

Each unit has a marble-faced fireplace in the living room and hardwood floors on the main level.

The rear of the residences will overlook a common area park with walkways, seating areas, landscaping and trees. Garages also will be in the rear. Each townhouse will feature a landscaped front yard measuring about 200 square feet.

Ravenswood Park is being developed by Enterprise Development in a joint venture with Selwyn Malisoff of Malisoff Realty. The sales center at Ravenswood Park is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and weekdays by appointment. For information, call 773-266-7000.

– Prairie Grove, a community of 57 semi-custom single-family homes being developed in Buffalo Grove by Samuels Homes, has four lots and two models remaining for sale.

The 12 floor plans include four bedrooms and 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 baths. Priced from $375,900 to $577,900, the homes range from 2,550 to 4,000 square feet.

Features include libraries, dens, volume ceilings, open foyers, sky bridges, security systems and two- or three-car garages.

Prairie Grove is located on Prairie Road between Aptakisic Road and Illinois Highway 22, two miles north of Lake-Cook Road.

– The 24-unit fourth phase is under way at Townhomes on the Lake, a gated community of 123 townhouses situated along a 40-acre lake in southwest suburban Joliet.

The 1,243-square-foot Geneva plan features two bedrooms, one bath and attached two-car garage, priced from $109,900.

Besides the Geneva, seven other floor plans are offered ranging from 1,243 to 2,050 square feet. They feature lofts per plan, two or three bedrooms, one to 2 1/2 baths, attached two-car garages and optional walkout or English basements. They are priced from $109,900 to $139,900 with monthly association fees at $58.

Kipling Homes’ Townhomes on the Lake is on Hennipen Drive just west of Essington Drive near the Louis Joliet Mall. Sales hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For information call 815-439-1500.

– Sales and construction are under way at The Preserves of Waterfall Glen, a Burnside Construction Co. community of 115 townhouses in Darien.

Models are scheduled to open in February with initial occupancies planned for March and April.

The three two-story floor plans range from 1,625 to 1,915 square feet and include two bedrooms, some with loft and/or den, 2 1/2 baths, basement and two-car garage. They are priced from $164,900 to $184,900.

An additional two raised-ranch designs are about 1,750 square feet and include three bedrooms and two baths, priced from $161,900 to $170,900. One of the plans includes a den.

– Joseph Freed Homes and Centrum Properties have announced plans for Wheaton Place Condominiums, with 40 condominiums and 21,600 square feet of retail and commercial space in downtown Wheaton. Preconstruction sales are expected to begin in early spring 1998.

The L-shaped mid-rise building will include garage parking for 250 cars. The condos will be priced from $152,000 to $310,000 and will range from 980 to 2,156 square feet with one to three bedrooms and one to two baths. First-floor units will feature private, gated yards.

– Sales have begun at Tangley Oaks, Burnside Construction Co.’s 44-unit townhouse development in west suburban Lisle.

The raised ranch and two-story floor plans range from 1,589 to 1,915 square feet with two or three bedrooms, two or three baths, and an attached two- or 2 1/2-car garage. They are priced from $166,900 to $183,900.

Standard amenities per plan include nine-foot first-floor ceilings, two-story foyers, ceramic tile floors, first-floor dens, and volume ceilings.

Building are designed in units of three, four and five. Monthly assessments are $118.
