Bernadette T. Ryan, 63, of Woodstock, an advocate for animals and museums, died Saturday at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. She was born in Chicago and grew up in the Bridgeport neighborhood. After marrying, Mrs. Ryan moved with her husband, Charles, to Long Grove. She worked as a secretary for an insurance company to help pay his way through law school, then did part-time secretarial work for his firm, Clement & Ryan. Mrs. Ryan is survived by her daughters Mary T. Spizzirri and Nancy A. Ryan-Krieschen; a brother; a sister; and two grandchildren. A prayer service will begin at 9:15 a.m. Monday at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, followed by mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 75 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove.
