James J. Smith, 77, died Saturday in his Oak Brook home. A native of McAdoo, Pa., Mr. Smith was a laborer in the concrete business. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Walter A. Gloss VFW Post 2048, Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include a son, James, and two sisters. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst, followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York Rd., Elmhurst.
