Imagine “Mystery Science Theater 3000” on speed and you’ll have some idea of what goes on at B-Fest, Northwestern University’s 15th annual celebration of bad, bad feature films.
“Plan 9 From Outer Space,” the Ed Wood masterpiece, anchors the fest in the midnight time slot, and it’s usually the most tame thing shown. You’ve probably never seen anything like “The Terror of Tiny Town,” the first, last and only low-budget, all dwarf, western musical. How about “Invasion of the Bee Girls,” a story of evil, men-killing, hive-dwelling women in Jackie-O sunglasses? Not to mention the classic Ringo Starr feature “Caveman.” Bring a blanket and plenty of candy. B-Fest runs from 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday in the McCormick Auditorium of the Norris Center at Northwestern University. Admission: $10 in advance, $15 at the door. 847-491-2378.
