Thanks so much for Patrick Reardon’s feature of Tom Emery’s book about Richard Rowett (“Search and rescue,” Tempo, Jan. 16). It is a great find for those of us who love reading about that era and wonder about Civil War personalities other than the great Abraham Lincoln, Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, Frederick Douglass, et al. We now know where to find one more tidbit of information.
