J.D. Hilliard, 47, a Matteson-based civil and criminal attorney, died Friday in Canada following a ski accident. A longtime resident of Chicago Heights who recently moved to Flossmoor, Mr. Hilliard has been practicing for about 20 years. He was also a basketball coach at Infant Jesus of Prague Elementary School in Flossmoor. Survivors include his wife, Pauline; three sons, Jason, Joel and Jeffrey; his father, James P.; and two brothers. Mass was said in Flossmoor.
