Ernie Zampese, the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive coordinator for the last four seasons, has been named to the same position with the New England Patriots.

Zampese replaces Larry Kennan, who is likely to be kept on the team’s staff, Patriots coach Pete Carroll said.

The Cowboys sank to 6-10 last season. In Zampese’s years under former coach Barry Switzer, Dallas won the Super Bowl after the 1995 season.

– Zampese’s former employer, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, plans to give a second interview to Green Bay offensive coordinator Sherman Lewis for Dallas’ head coaching job.

– Former Bears assistant and former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Pendry has been hired to run the Buffalo Bills’ offense.
