Sam “Slicker Sam” Rosa, founder and owner of “Slicker Sam’s” restaurant in Melrose Park for the last 36 years, died Wednesday in his Melrose Park home. “My father never met someone who wasn’t a friend,” said his son, Joseph, who now operates the restaurant, at 1911 Rice St., with his mother, Zena. Besides his son and wife, Mr. Rosa is survived by a sister and three grand-daughters. Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1101 N. 23rd Ave., Melrose Park.
