I believe the President’s Initiative on Race advisory board should consider the abolition of the term “minority” as used to describe any race or ethnic group.
The word itself is a pejorative term. The Democrats in the House of Representatives are referred to as the minority party because they lost a number of seats in the 1994 election and are no longer the majority. The Democrats lost their power.
No person in America should be classified as a minority. It is a divisive term and should not be used as a means of classifying people. The expression “women and other minorities” doesn’t make a lot of sense. We should be, and in reality are, a nation of equals.
