Steve Hindi, president of Chicago Animal Rights Coalition, was jailed last week because his appeal on a contempt charge was rejected (Metro, Feb. 4).
Hindi’s crime? Protecting geese. That’s all. He harmed no one, but he could spend the next 5 1/2 months in jail. That’s more time than some rapists and child abusers get.
Crazy world we live in, eh?
