Unit District 12 has seen “outstanding growth in technology” over the past year, the school’s computer coordinator reported.

Mike Heger, in his annual report to the school board, said all five schools have been linked to the Internet and learning centers were transferred to computerized cataloging and circulation.

In addition, two new computer labs were built, Heger reported, and nearly 50 staff members completed 40 hours of computer training.

District 12 for the past several years has earmarked $6,000 for technology improvements, Heger said. But in that time about the district has spent $140,000 for technology improvements, thanks to grants, donations and volunteers, Heger said.
