I was disappointed with the caption under the picture of Elton John (Page 2, Feb. 25). Elton John is an openly gay man, and his long-term relationship with David Furnish is well known. By referring to the two merely as “close friends,” you devalued their loving relationship. Such treatment of gay relationships only serves to minimize their importance.
