A recent article in the Tribune states that for many men power is a great aphrodisiac (“Problem husbands,” Op-Ed, March 2). Also, along this same line, there has been public discussion of sexual addiction as an illness.

To solve the first problem, I suggest we elect only women to high office and encourage many more to become heads of corporations.

In the second instance, I believe the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in conjunction with departments of public health, should launch a joint major study of sexual addiction. The country needs to find the cause of and a cure for an ailment that has proved so disruptive in so many places.
