Custer A. McKnight, 92, the former maintenance supervisor for the Baptist Retirement Home in Maywood, died Thursday in Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. A longtime resident of Villa Park, Mr. McKnight served in the Illinois National Guard from 1936 to 1939. Survivors include his wife, Frieda; two daughters, Barbara Edstrom and Donna Rice; a son, Paul; a sister; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Harvard Avenue Evangelical Free Church, 206 W. St. Charles Rd., Villa Park.
