Paul W. Caputo, 70, of Lombard, a retired senior engineer with Western Electric, died Saturday in Hinsdale Hospital. Mr. Caputo retired from Western Electric in 1986 after serving 33 years at the Hawthorn Works and Warrenville Data Center. He was a computer systems specialist and among other projects helped computerize Western Electric’s payroll system. Mr. Caputo served in the Army from 1946 until 1950 and was part of the occupation forces in Germany. He was also stationed in France and England. Survivors include his wife, Loretta: three sons, Cary, Dana and Brian; two daughters, Cathy Bussa and Britt Schoonover; his mother, Martha; a sister; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St., Downers Grove. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4501 Main St., Downers Grove.
