Ruth M. Ryan, 70, of Barrington, a past president of the Council of Barrington Garden Clubs, died Saturday in Governors Park Nursing Home, Barrington. She was also a past president of the Field and Garden Club in Barrington and a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program. Mrs. Ryan was born in Janesville, Wis. Survivors include her husband, Richard J.; two sons, Richard II and Gregory; a daughter, De Ette Kauffman; a sister, Betty Schuren; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Stirlen-Pieper & Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
