Graydon W. “Dave” Davis, 67, of Des Plaines, a decorated Korean War Marine veteran, died Wednesday in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. He was an engineer, most recently with AT&T Bell Labs, Naperville. Mr. Davisreceived his degree in engineering from the Detroit Institute of Technology. He was a member of the “Chosin Few,” survivors of the Chosin reservoir battle during the Korean War. His unit, Fox Company, had only 86 survivors. Mr. Davis received two Purple Heart medals, among other awards. “He really enjoyed his involvement at his church,” said his son, Michael. “That was important to him.” Other survivors include his wife, Jean; and two brothers, Roger and Donald. Visitation will be from noon until a service at 1 p.m. Saturday and after the service in Willow Creek Community Church, 67 E. Algonquin Rd., South Barrington.
