With more than 900 students attending a recent open house for incoming Lincoln-Way High School freshmen, school officials said the enrollment growth pattern continues.

Counselors said 953 area 8th graders, along with 35 more potential transfer students, attended the event Feb. 26 for a preview of high school life.

Assistant Supt. Joseph Davis said next year’s freshman class is expected to number between 1,160 and 1,180 students.

Enrollment at the freshman-sophomore East Campus in Frankfort and at the junior-senior Central Campus in New Lenox is expected to increase by about 200 next year, to 4,500, Davis said.

Current enrollment is more than 4,300 students, Davis said.
