Chi-town just may be the swingingest town around, baby. Yes, hep cats, the swing-dance revolution is still going strong witness the way it’s darn near taken over some local clubs. At Liquid (1997 N. Clybourn Ave., 773-528-3400), swing dancers jump and boogie five nights a week. Deejays spin tunes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and live bands rev it up on Sundays, Thursdays and Fridays. Other swing nights to note: Mondays at the Elbo Room (2871 N. Lincoln Ave., 773-549-5549), where Kevin O’Donnell’s Quality Six rock the house; also on Mondays, the Riff Rockets do their thing at the Beat Kitchen (2100 W. Belmont Ave., 773-281-4444); on Tuesdays jive to the Big Swing at the Green Mill (4802 N. Broadway; 773-878-5552) and on Wednesdays check them out at Frankie’s Blue Room in Naperville (16 W. Chicago Ave., 630-416-4898). A special dance blowout to note: On Saturday, the Hudson Irregulars will tear it up at the Abbey Pub (3420 W. Grace St., 773-478-4408). This soiree is sponsored by the Chicago Swing Half-Breeds, who give lessons at several of the venues above; call their hot line at 312-409-0039 for the latest on classes and upcoming swing events.
