After decades of being just another item in the state’s massive transportation budget, Lake County traffic issues will now be handled locally by the Lake County Transportation Improvement Project.
A joint venture between the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, the project will be in charge of all studies pertaining to improving transportation in Lake County.
From their office in Mundelein, project administrators will seek input from residents, businesses, transportation providers, municipalities and other interested parties to find ways to improve everything from sidewalks to the proposed extension of Illinois Highway 53.
