John C. McDougall, 89, of Arlington Heights died Wednesday in Northwest Community Hospital. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Mr. McDougall lived in Bethesda, Md., for 40 years. He was associate director for program services at the Institute of Child Health and Human Development of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. In his work, he organized support services that assisted scientists at the institute. Previously, he had been a newspaper photographer and a high school English and journalism teacher in Minnesota. He served as a captain with the U.S. Army in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Ellen Pecson and Carol Bergenstal; his son, Duncan; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Congregational United Church of Christ, 1001 W. Kirchoff Rd., Arlington Heights.
