Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I just finished reading the article about all the people going to see “Rent” and then, unexpectedly, being confronted with the shocking content of the musical (March 15, Arts & Entertainment). Here’s a message to all the folks that were offended: Next time, find out what the product is before you buy.

I find it comical that people will shell out over $150 for tickets to a show without having any concept of what the show is about. Would you blindly order a piece of clothing without knowing if you’re buying a pair of pants or a pair of shoes?

The reason for this ignorant behavior, however, is fairly obvious. “Rent” is the “in” show. The content of the show doesn’t really matter, does it? People just want to be able to say they saw it.

If you’re uninformed, you deserve to get shocked.
