A study of Zion-Benton Township High School’s “Anytime Anywhere Learning” program will become part of the Smithsonian Institution’s permanent collection next month.

The program, which provides students with laptop computers, was nominated to the Smithsonian by Toshiba, which provides the machines to schools all over the country.

Zion-Benton was one of 15 participating schools to submit a case study on “Anytime Anywhere Learning” to the Smithsonian.

The study will become part of the Smithsonian’s collection as will a time capsule containing news articles, videos and slides on the program.

The material will be housed in the Smithsonian’s Permanent Research Collection on Information Technology Innovation at the National Museum of American History.

It will be available to scholars and researchers and may eventually become part of the museum’s Information Age exhibit.
