Peter Dauchy, 73, a commodities executive and longtime member of the Chicago Board of Trade, died March 19 in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. He had lived in Winnetka until his retirement to Georgia in 1993. He was a 1943 graduate of New Trier East High School and was in the Army during World War II. After the war, he graduated from Northwestern University and began his commodities career. In 1975, he formed his own investment firm, McCormick Futures Inc., which had offices throughout the United States and Europe. Friends and former associates described him as a highly respected professional with a reputation for integrity. His firm was also one of the first to create commodity funds in which individuals invest with professional traders, said Phil Ryan, a former associate. His friend, Ralph Eisenschiml, said that “he was a sweet man and he ran a tight ship. That’s a very rare combination.” Survivors include his wife, Donna; a daughter, Anne Watson; a son, David; and four grandchildren.
