After many months of research and discussion Frankfort School District 157-C has a middle school.
The school board unanimously approved the middle school concept for the 1998-99 year at its meeting this week. The middle school was created by changing the name of Hickory Creek Elementary/Frankfort Junior High to Hickory Creek Middle School.
The question of whether to turn Hickory Creek Elementary/Frankfort Junior High School into a middle school has been studied and discussed for the past two years. District officials held a meeting for parents on the topic earlier this year.
Staff will be added, as well as teacher teams. Each team will be responsible for tracking a group of students.
