About 40 residents attended a Bolingbrook Plan Commission meeting recently to ask about lighting and other concerns surrounding a proposed industrial and commercial development.

The commission has approved a zoning change for a 157-acre undeveloped property at 119th Street and Weber Road that had been a farm. The zoning was changed to allow the 117-acre industrial area, which will have frontage on 119th Street, and a commercial/retail area, which will front on Weber Road.

Residents of the Fields of Bradford, a subdivision to the north, asked questions about the development proposed by Remington-Weber Partners of Bolingbrook.

Residents asked how many access points would be allowed on 119th Street to the development and what sort of office or warehouse is planned.

“They look like pretty bulky buildings (in the industrial area),” said one resident. “It would be pretty outrageous to stare at a cement building that’s two blocks long.”
