Robert John Bychowski, 69, formerly of Mt. Prospect, a retired automobile body mechanic, died Saturday in Hilton Head Island, S.C., where he resided. He worked for the former Oldsmobile division of the Larry Faul car dealership in Schaumburg from 1973 until his retirement in 1993. “Bob was the kind of person that, if you needed help with anything, he was right there,” said his former supervisor Tom Stoll. “He was a very knowledgeable man. No matter what the problem was, he would find a way to solve it. He was a very helpful man.” Survivors include his wife, Fran; a son, Robert; a daughter, Linda Pitts; three brothers, Jerome, Thomas and Howard; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles. A Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. until the mass at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Raymond De Penafort Church, 300 S. Elmhurst Rd., Mt. Prospect.
