Marlene E. Free, 65, of St. Charles, died Tuesday in her home. Born in Chicago, Mrs. Free was a member of St. John Neumann Church. Before her retirement, she was employed by the Chronicle Publishing Company in St. Charles for more than 20 years. Survivors include a son, Patrick; two daughters, Kathleen Planek and Marie Beardsley; and nine grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles.
