A revised proposal to build a commercial development at the southeast corner of Buffalo Grove and Aptakisic Roads was not scaled back enough for the Buffalo Grove Plan Commission, which Wednesday night sought changes to the proposal.
Following the Village Board’s suggestion last month that the size of the development be reduced, Buffalo Grove-based Allini Partners eliminated a McDonald’s restaurant from the plans. The current proposal calls for two buildings with a total of 28,000 square feet. One of which would house a Walgreens.
But the Plan Commission said it wanted additional changes. Allini President Scott Gendell was receptive to putting restrictions on the types of tenants for the development.
The Walgreens drugstore would include a drive-through pharmacy, which Gendell said would bring in a fraction of the traffic to the area attracted by other types of drive-through facilities.
If the development is approved, Allini would cede 1.2 acres south of Aptakisic Creek to the village for open space.
