Anton E. Vesneske, 82, a carpenter and a musician, died Sunday in his longtime residence in Palatine. Born in Medford, Wis., Mr. Vesneske owned Rand Saw Service in Palatine. Mr. Vesneske remodeled and built homes in the northwest suburbs. Mr. Vesneske also played the accordion and drums in two polka bands, the Tony Sherry Trio and the Velvetones, which played at wedding and retirement parties. He was a 51-year member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians. Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine Poe and Barbara Eck; three sons, James, Ronald and Richard; a sister, Frieda Griswald; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. A mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 465 N. Benton St., Palatine.
