Top Justice Department trustbusters met with Microsoft Corp. lawyers and executives Friday as the government pondered whether to bring new, broader charges against the software giant.
Neither the company nor government officials would comment on the substance of the meeting, less than two weeks before a crucial April 21 court hearing.
In addition, Microsoft announced it was ending provisions in agreements with its Internet content providers that prohibited them from promoting rivals’ products. The company also said it may try to drum up public support from customers.
