I congratulate the South African Catholic priest, the Rev. Mohlomi Makobane, for serving communion to our non-Catholic President Clinton. By this respectful act of giving and receiving, both men honored themselves, their countries and their religions.
The idea of people from different faiths and countries coming together in peace is beautiful and inspiring. With his own hands Jesus administered the very first holy communion to his disciples. They weren’t Catholics either.
