Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

There was a time when The Tribune, as the press should be, was an advocate of truth, justice and defender of the underdogs. Unfortunately, since the smell of oil from the Caspian basin, you have joined the oil lobby predators in your unjustly one-sided description of the Karabakh conflict.

Your veiled attack of Mrs. Kathryn Porter (Page 1, April 14) is particularly alarming. A true human-rights advocate, she is not only the angel of Karabakh but also that of the persecuted Kurds and others.

As for the Armenian Caucus in the House of Representa-tives, its members are truly motivated by human-rights injustices committed against Armenia and Karabakh, instead of greed. On one hand you claim that there is no Azerbaijan lobby on Capitol Hill, then you contradict yourself by saying that the oil companies have become de facto lobbyists and that former top officials are advising both the oil companies and Azerbaijan, no doubt for lucrative fees. It is interesting that you conveniently left out the lobbying efforts of the Turkish government.

While you are on a roll of anti-Armenian articles and editorials, you might as well join the multitude of mercenary scribblers, hired by the Turkish government, who are engaged in denying the Armenian genocide, just in time when Armenians will commemorate (April 24) the greatest tragedy of their history. Thus, you will deliver your mightiest blow.
