The time has come to rid our state political system of our outmoded system of voting in primary elections–namely having to declare a party affiliation.
I had been a part of the rampant voter apathy created by this requirement. The reason I vote in primary elections today is that I’ve seen the results of low primary turnout, such as Lyndon LaRouche turning out his followers and getting his candidates elected to participate in a general election. I believe very strongly that if we eliminated the need to declare a specific party affiliation that we could see a greater voter turnout in primary elections.
