Anthony J. Vecchiolla, 70, died Saturday in his Naperville home. Mr. Vecchiolla was a maintenance worker at the Mission of Our Lady of Mercy in Chicago. He was born in Chicago and served with the Navy in the South Pacific in 1944 and 1945. “My father enjoyed investing in the stock market, playing cards, taking his annual trip to the racetrack and spending time with his grandchildren,” said his son, Anthony Vecchiolla. Other survivors include his wife, Antoinette; a son, Joseph; a daughter, Carmella Moran; two sisters, Rose Schatz and Dolores Topolski; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, to be followed by mass at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville.
