Thomas Patrick Mahoney, 89, a small-businessman and former resident of Wheaton, died Sunday in his home in Lake Summerset. Mr. Mahoney was the former owner and president of Thomas P. Mahoney Associates, a management-consulting firm serving the graphic arts industry. He was a longtime resident of Rockford and Lake Summerset. A Rhode Island native, he began his career as a typesetter at Unity Press in Holyoke, Mass., later becoming an executive at Regensteiner Corp. and Inland Lithograph Co., both in Chicago. He was the founding vice president of St. Leonard’s House, a group home for paroled convicts in Chicago. He also was a founding member of the Association of Graphic Arts Consultants. Survivors include his wife, Jewel “Pat” Braun Holahan; a son, Robert; two daughters, Patricia Horn and Ellen; two stepchildren, Rev. Charmian Holahan-Cressy and Janice LaFoe; a sister, Mary Rohan; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Burial services were private.
