I was dismayed to see the highly attenuated chess column in Sunday’s Arts section. I hope that this is not a necessary outcome of the newly reformatted section. If space is a problem, might I respectfully suggest that you drop the Horoscopes instead. Hasn’t there already been enough “dumbing down” in our society?
