Buffalo Grove High School students have captured honors in two recent writing contests.
In the Harper College Community Writing Contest, senior Adam Webb of Buffalo Grove received an honorable mention in fiction and poetry. Senior Jill Moriarity of Arlington Heights received an honorable mention in poetry. Junior Justin Kinney of Arlington Heights was the second-place winner for poetry.
Several Buffalo Grove High students will see their work in print in the publication Best Prose and Poetry for Illinois Students.
Winners include Laura Booth and John Huffaker of Buffalo Grove and Arlington Heights residents Moriarity, Troy Malecki, Lissa Aquino, Scott Miller, Nick Leicht, Megan McCullough and Annie Yetzer.
