Leon P. Halatek, 50, property manager of the Bristol Court condominium complex in Park Ridge, died Monday in Resurrection Hospital there. Mr. Halatek, a Chicago native, was a graduate of Lane Technical High School, Chicago. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the 92nd Aviation Company of the 10th Combat Aviation Battalion. Mr. Halatek received the Vietnam Service Medal, among other decorations. “He could fix anything. He had the greatest sense of humor. He could tell a joke on any subject,” daughter Laura Katula said. Other survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Adam and Leon P. Jr; a daughter, Rebecca Griskey; his mother, Irene Cole; two sisters, Carole Gramm and Janice Kane; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1111 N. Elmhurst Rd., Prospect Heights.
