John T. Chapman, 74, of Villa Park died Tuesday in Hines Veteran Hospital in Hines. Mr. Chapman was a resident of Villa Park for more than 30 years. He was a veteran who served in the Army during World War II in the Battles for New Guinea and the southern Philippines in the South Pacific. He received the Purple Heart and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his daughter, Debra White; a brother; and a sister. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until services at 8 p.m. Friday at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main St., Lombard.
