Despite the mostly justifiable outcry over shooting incidents involving our children, Ellen Freudenheim and Tina Johnstone of Silent March have truly misunderstood the real problem (“Sounding the alarm on kids and guns,” Voice, May 1).

It’s not “guns are killing our children.” It’s children killing our children. Children from broken homes (in the name of sexual freedom), children who are exposed to violent or pornographic entertainment (in the name of free speech) and children who are not given traditional moral values (in the name of separation of church and state).

Let’s look after the needs of the children, and then we won’t have to collect and display shoes.
