We were overjoyed to see the May 1 article by Jerry Thomas titled “Chicago’s bronze lady rises again” (Metro, May 1).

I was a friend and neighbor of Milton Horn and his wife, Estelle. Milton would be so proud to see this wonderful bas-relief again on public view. Milton is also the artist who sculpted the bas-relief at the water filtration plant in Chicago. It is a masterly work of art. He also sculpted three of the busts at the Merchandise Mart.

Milton lived in Lincoln Park and did all his sculpting in a garage behind his home on Lincoln Avenue. He loved Chicago and left many friends.
