The Roselle Village Board has approved a reverse 911 agreement that will allow the village to automatically call listed phone numbers.
“One option we’ll have is guardian calling, where, at a senior citizen’s or another party’s request, a call could be made daily to a residence,” Police Chief Richard Eddington told the board Monday night.
If there was no response from the resident, a police unit would be sent to check on that address, he said.
Indianapolis-based Sigma Micro Corp. will provide the system at a cost of $22,246. Eddington said a federal grant would pay most of the cost.
