Marvin J. Reed, 72, of Hoffman Estates, formerly of Chicago, died Sunday in Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Born in Chicago, Mr. Reed was a retired telephone repairman and a World War II veteran of the Navy. Survivors include two sons, Jim and Randall; a daughter, Karen Ortiz; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
