Tom Zacny, 48, died Friday at his Calumet City home of complications from a brain tumor. “All his friends at work say they miss his laughter and his ability to keep them going when things were difficult,” said his wife, Christine. Mr. Zacny was an accountant who worked for Illinois Central Railroad for 18 years. Most recently, he was the controller for a division of Gallagher-Bassett Services in Itasca. He was a member of several service clubs in the south suburbs, including Club AMSAC, Arcadia Lodge No. 1138 A.F. & A.M., Dolton Piscanteers, Sons of American Legion Post No. 330 and St. Andrew the Apostle’s Ushers Club. Other survivors include two sons, Nicholas and Peter; a daughter, Lizabeth; his father, William; two sisters, Richelle Zarowny and Robin Shutoski; and a brother, Jerome. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, in Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, 400 Pulaski Rd., Calumet City.
